Students will use maps, an excerpt of a presidential speech, excerpts from two congressional speechs, an excerpt from a Cherokee Nation council address, an oral testimony and a painting to examine the political reasoning behind the Indian Removal Act as well as the public portrayal and personal impact of the Trail fo Tears on the Cherokee Nation.
